AON Female Sailor of the Year Award

In November, The Informer published an article about Charlotte Porter, local Whitianga Physiotherapist at Physio First, Whitianga, who competed in the Woman’s World Match Racing Tour earlier this year.

The Women’s World Match Racing Tour required the teams, including the Kiwi team (Edge Women’s

Match), to compete in four events around the world. The first two were in USA, in San Francisco and

Annapolis: then on to Le Havre, France and the fourth was in Copenhagen, Denmark. The Kiwi girls came second.

At the recent 2023 Aon Yachting Excellence Awards held in late November 4 Edge Women’s Match won the Aon Female Sailor of the Year Award for their excellent performances on the Women’s World Match Racing Tour. Congratulations on the well-deserved recognition Celia Willison, Serena Woodall, Charlotte Porter, Paige Cook and Alison Kent.

Charlotte is a true local champion, and this community is proud of her and indeed the whole team. The informer mentioned in that earlier article that Charlotte is looking for opportunities to keep in training by being part of moving any sail boats when required to other places in New Zealand.
