A major national award has brought well-deserved recognition to Whitianga real estate professional Shaun Paterson, who has been named Bayleys National Sales Manager of the Year.

Shaun Paterson is presented with his national award. Mike Bayley, Chairman of Bayley’s Corporation Mark Macky CEO, Shaun Paterson, General Manager of Bayleys Coromandel Peninsula, Chris Gwin – National Director of Franchises.

Recently, one of our own locals was awarded the Bayleys National Sales Manager of the Year. There are over 150 Bayleys sales managers across New Zealand.

With 1,200 people from all over New Zealand present at the awards ceremony, it is quite something for a local to receive this honour.

Had one of his staff not told The Informer of the news, we may never have known. Shaun Paterson, Director and joint owner of Bayleys Coromandel Peninsula, was the recipient.

The award is open to any owner or manager across Bayleys’ national leadership group throughout the country.

The decision is based on submissions from people across the business and is made by the Bayleys Realty Group Board. The award recognises a person who has added significant value to their office and their people through leadership, team culture and business growth.

Before Shaun was announced as National Sales Manager of the Year, event MC Jeremy Corbett said:

“This recipient’s leadership has driven outstanding business performance, developed high-performing teams and delivered exceptional results for their franchise.

Our recipient has transformed what was already a strong performance into a truly dominant one, growing market share over a staggering fifty percent.

A strong culture champion, Shaun has built a team who embraces collaboration, accountability and excellence.”

I have personally watched Shaun’s journey as he has grown the business, and thought back to his dad, who was here in Whitianga when the Bayleys office was first established in Albert Street over 25 years ago. Shaun went on to make property his vocation. His dad’s example, his university education, 20 years of corporate real estate leadership in London and Auckland, his colleagues, and the local community here in Whitianga, where he lives with his wife Laura and their children Amelie and Sienna, have all contributed to this achievement.

Congratulations, Shaun.
