Coromandel communities deserve clean water, healthy rivers and thriving oceans.
Green Party Coromandel candidate Pamela Grealey has welcomed the Green Party’s new Drink Swim Fish policy package, saying it reflects something people across the Coromandel electorate value deeply: the right to clean drinking water, healthy rivers, swimmable beaches and thriving marine ecosystems.
“Across the Coromandel electorate, water connects all our communities,” said Grealey.
“Whether it’s drinking water from the tap or a rainwater tank, families swimming in the Waihou or Ohinemuri Rivers, people gathering kaimoana along our coastline, boating on the Firth of Thames or Tauranga Harbour, fishing from our beaches, or simply enjoying our local waterways, healthy water is central to our way of life.”
Grealey said protecting waterways is about far more than the environment alone.
A Green Government would restore and protect nature so that it thrives. For all of us.
