An intimate evening of live music recently brought together talented local musicians and music lovers at the Embassy of Friendship in central Whitianga.

Group Shot at the Embassy of Friendship

On a recent August Saturday last from 4.00pm to 6.30pm a wonderful family friendly early evening showcase took place. Dylan Wade presented some of the music of his new album – “The Light” at what is Whitianga’s boutique event venue.  Supported by his daughter Nur Peach on vocals, keyboard and bass guitar, Nigel Sanders on drums and percussion. Paul Lee another famous local musician, with beautiful soprano sax and tenor flute; it was a really cool vibe from these professional musicians.

Nur showcased some songs from her own album “Syncopate” which features “Gift from Above” often played on CFM.

The Embassy – a delightful venue

As impressive as the music was, this newly renovated charming venue in the heart of Whitianga township – the Embassy of Friendship at 5 Coghill Street, needs to be celebrated more as a venue for boutique events. It really is the perfect small intimate venue for hire; alongside the permanent practice rooms and office space of Steffen Lindner, registered counsellor and practitioner.

The Embassy of Friendship is also home to some regular courses/classes – ‘Inner Balance’ facilitating space for body and energy restoration and mindfulness, Aerial Yoga and Pilates.
