Music and sunshine at the Hahei lawn charity concert

The best Saturday afternoon menu – Fantastic location, Phil Hart and ‘Dem Bones’ band with their superb music, Walnut and Fig food truck with a fine menu of food and drink, a great cause helping cancer sufferers locally, a generous host, Shaun Jackson, and of course the sun shone, mostly.

The Annual Lawnmowers Son “Music on the Lawn” charity event at Hahei Homestead was a success despite the sunshine swapping with rain and wind squalls at a couple of intervals. This weather kept some away, but a good crowd came regardless.

The raffles and auction items donated were ‘over the top’ generous and the organisers thank the sponsors for making the fund raising for the Mercury Bay Cancer Support Trust so significant.

Sponsors – Ooh La La Boutique; Hotwater Beach Holiday Park; Hot Waves Café and Day Bar; Hotties Beachfront Eatery; Cathedral Cove Dive and Snorkel; The Church Bistro; Discovery Tours Waterways Cruise; The Pourhouse; Pewter CC Interiors; 100% Electrical; Artist, Irina Velman, The Church Accommodation, The Hive, The Vessel, The Liqour Shops in HaHei and Cooks Beach and Donovan Contracting. There were many others and we also say thank you to the generous cash sponsors.

There was no charge to enter this wonderful event and people simply donated into the collection buckets.

Donations are still welcome.  The aim was to raise $10,000 from this event, and the final tally looks very close to $15,000. All proceeds go to our local Mercury Bay Community Support Trust.
