There was much fun and laughter at the Mercury Bay Lions Le Lunch held at the Bowling Club on Saturday. 70 people came with many dressed up in berets and stripes to celebrate the French theme.
They were serenaded by music from Dave Kennedy. There were many compliments on the 3 course meal which began with large tasting platters loaded with cheese and olives. The buffet mains table was bursting with quiches, ham and salads. The delectable desserts followed.
Many people were lucky to receive spot prizes and exciting raffle prizes were drawn by MB Lions President, Megan Henson. Many thanks to the generosity of the businesses who donated these.
Last financial year Mercury Bay Lions donated over $7,000 towards local projects. The profits from Le Lunch are earmarked to replenish funds and will be spent locally.
Congratulations to Past President Cecily Dower, as organiser, and her hardworking colleagues from MB Lions, on a very successful event.
