This month’s challenge, ‘Looking Down’, encouraged members to explore the theme in their own unique and creative ways. The winning images, ‘Held in Descent’ by Annah Stretton and ‘We Made It!’ by Renee Leth, were selected by Sue Henley APSNZ. Congratulations to both winners!

This month’s challenge, ‘Looking Down’, encouraged members to explore the theme in their own unique and creative ways, and our members certainly delivered. A warm thank you to Sue Henley APSNZ for generously sharing her time and expertise in judging our entries and selecting our Photo of the Month.

Sue praised this image as a highly creative and cleverly executed piece. The diagonal placement of the subject and the light on her face immediately grabbed her attention. She said ”I like the unobtrusive green leaves chosen for the background as they don’t compete with the subject in any way, I also feel this is a very well composed image that fits the set subject perfectly.” – Honours

This dynamic action shot impressed Sue with its joyful expression and perfect timing as horse and rider clear the jump. Sue commented “An excellent choice of shutter speed and depth of field have been applied here; the subject is nicely focused and there is just enough information in the background to tell the story” – Honours

Congratulations to Annah and Renee. Their winning images, and all March submissions, are now featured on our public Facebook page for everyone to enjoy.

Looking ahead to April, the theme is Mystery Colour. Each member has been assigned a different colour, and we can’t wait to see how creatively they interpret it.
