Cindy Alger brings her distinctive style as “Guest Artist” at Gallery 6 for the month of September.
Many will be familiar with Cindy’s artworks – painting light hearted and quirky scenes conducive to positive, fruitful outcomes or good feng shui!
She is a long-time resident and very much part of the art community of Coromandel.
Cindy’s parents, her mother Latvian, was the cook at the local Hospital, while her father a fisherman and local undertaker. This meant she grew up with first hand experience of the fragility and sometimes unexpected shortness of life.
So early on, Cindy found a way to deal with this knowledge – not to take anything too seriously and to spend as much time as possible doing what you love.
Cindy gained a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Elam in Auckland in 1990, with a major in sculpture and honours in painting. Visit the gallery and enjoy her works.
