New Platinum Homes franchise owners on the Coromandel

Malcolm and Bonita Carr are the new franchise owners of Platinum Homes on the Coromandel Peninsula and the Hauraki Plains. “We aren’t new to the building industry as we have owned 17 homes in 40 years of married life,” says Malcolm. “Many of our homes we have designed and built or renovated ourselves. We have always enjoyed the challenge building your own home offers, from the style of the home all the way through to the finishing touches. Over 40 years, housing styles have changed, but we have stayed in touch with all the changing trends.”

Malcolm has owned a very successful insurance business for 28 years, 23 years in Auckland and the last five years in Mercury Bay. He has won many insurance industry awards during the course of his career. He takes great pride in his work ethics and dealing with clients on a personal level.

Bonita has run a B&B at Flaxmill Bay for the past five years. She and Malcom enjoyed meeting tourists from all around the world. “We enjoyed sharing our piece of paradise on the Coromandel, promoting the local area ands making our guests’ visit an enjoyable experience,” says Bonita.

The couple are taking a long-term view with their purchase of the Platinum Homes franchise. “Location is everything and the Coromandel is without doubt one of the most desirable areas in New Zealand to live or own a property,” says Malcolm. “Every town and village has its own character and identity and attractions and property owners can really choose the lifestyle they most enjoy, from rural to coastal and everything in between. The Platinum Homes national office provides great support in guiding us to produce stunning, quality homes on the Peninsula and the Hauraki Plains. From a personal perspective, Bonita and I are fully committed to build with care, striving to create homes that are well designed, well built and to be well loved by our clients. We’re all in to building our clients’ dreams.”

Malcolm and Bonita are fully committed to what is known as the “Platinum Experience.” “Everything revolves our clients,” says Malcolm. “We understand every client is unique and so is their lifestyle. Platinum has developed a custom process getting to the heart of a client’s vision, ensuring they get the home they’ve always wanted. Our range of house plans is a good start, but in the end our designers will make sure every client gets everything they are looking for.”

The new Platinum Homes office in Whitianga is open at 81 Albert Street. “We invite everyone interested in building a new home to pop in and talk to us about the best value they can get for their budget,” says Malcolm.
