General

We need your help to keep a lookout for a thief who is active in the Opito Bay area at the moment with a quad bike stolen and an attempt to steal another one. There has also been another burglary where fishing gear was stolen.

Please make it as hard as possible for thieves to steal your stuff and report any suspicious behaviour. 

Arrests

23rd -1 x 32-year-old local man for Impedes Breathing x 2.

23rd - 1 x 28-year-old local man Warned for Trespass.

Occurrences

Three Family Harm incidents attended this week.

A couple argued after consuming alcohol at a Joan Gaskell Drive address on the 21st and contacted the Police before things got out of hand, while on the 25th a couple argued at a Centennial Drive address and were given sound advice.

On the 23rd as per the arrest above, a man is alleged to have strangled his partner on two occasions at a Cook Drive address.

On the 19th two forestry rider blocks were stolen from equipment parked on the 309 Road, while on the 21st car doors were scratched at a Joan Gaskell Drive premises.

Damage was also caused to the passenger door of a car parked on Palm Drive on the 22nd, while also that night rods and reels were stolen from a boat parked at an Opito Bay Road address.

We are investigating an incident where a man is alleged to have slapped his children in the Hot Water Beach toilets on the 23rd, while on the 24th a car tyre was slashed at Otama Beach Road.

A quad bike was stolen from Skippers Road, Opito Bay on the 25th with another quad bike attempted to be stolen from Black Jack Road around the same period.

No drink drivers apprehended this week.
