Technology can sometimes feel overwhelming, but SeniorNet Whitianga is proving that learning new digital skills doesn’t have to be difficult.

WHAT’S SENIORNET?

We are a volunteer organisation and our aim is to make technology accessible to seniors in our community.

Our tutors are patient and friendly. They will answer your questions and show you which buttons to press on your phone or other device. No problem is too small or too difficult.

WHAT’S ON AT SENIORNET THIS MONTH

Maybe you’re new to Whitianga and keen to connect to other seniors or you have recently bought a new laptop or phone, check us out.

On 19 August we’re holding a “Drop In” session where you can meet us and find out what we can do to help you navigate the complex world of tech.

“DROP IN” SESSION:

When: Wednesday, 19 August. 11:15 – 12 Noon

Where: 2 Cook Drive, Room 9 (parking available)

Cost: Free

Our regular schedule:

If you would like an individual consultation with a tutor during our regular class times, you can book a 45 minute session. These are held every Wednesday during the school term. Times available are every 45 minutes from 10:15 a.m until 1:15 pm. Cost: $8.

If you have a iPhone or iPad, we have groups that meet every other Wednesday from 2:15-4:15pm. These groups give you the opportunity to interact with other SeniorNet members whilst learning about all the wonderful features of your Apple device. There is plenty of time during the session to get the opportunity to practice your newly-acquired skills.

To make a booking contact our Admin, Carol by phone: 021 0226 2504 or by email: seniornet.whitianga.admin@gmail.com

A SENIOR MOMENT…

How many times a day do we say, “Where the heck did I leave my phone…?”

“On the 8th day God created seniors…

Most seniors don’t get enough exercise so God decreed that seniors should become forgetful so they would have to search for their phones, glasses, keys and other things, thus doing more walking.”
