The Mercury Bay Golf Club women recently celebrated Midwinter Christmas with a shared commitment to helping others.

Last Tuesday 23 June the Mercury Bay Golf Club women  had a Midwinter Christmas Dinner at the clubrooms.

Rather than everyone bring a Secret Santa present it was decided to donate grocery items and give them to the Whitianga Community Services Trust, who will put them towards food parcels for individuals and families in need in the area. The cost of living has been felt by everyone, but it has some households to the point where there is not enough money to feed the family.

Mia McNamara, the Co-ordinator of the Foodbank for Whitianga Community Services Trust was very appreciative of this mid-winter boost to their foodbank supplies.
