GENERAL: Burglary: Various burglaries have been reported occurring at commercial premises on Moewai Road with boating equipment stolen as well as a twin axle trailer. Enquiries are continuing to identify the offenders involved and hopefully recover the items. Theft and Fire: During the early hours of Saturday, 10 February, a few properties were entered in Kuaotunu. 2x bicycles taken from one property and a camper van from the other. Police Report – January 29th to February 4th 2024

General: A burglary occurred late evening on the Sunday, 28 January at an Albert Street commercial address where food and alcohol was stolen. Unfortunately, it happened again at the same location overnight of Thursday, 1 February. Police are asking for any information that may assist in their enquiries to identify and locate the offender(s). Early hours of Monday, 29 January, some undesirables left old tyres and appliances on the Mobil Forecourt. These people will be spoken to regarding the matter. BY CONSTABLE MICHAEL CARTER, WHITIANGA POLICE GENERAL: Monday 15 January an intoxicated male was causing disorder at the Whitianga Wharf. He was moved on without incident.   Tuesday, 16 January a vehicle was siphoned of petrol on Cook Drive.   Also Tuesday, a multi roller tandem axle boat trailer was taken from a Whenuakite commercial property. Police Report – Christmas Period 2023 / 2024

Christmas Day, 25 December – two burglaries were reported in the Wharekaho area. Both properties had items taken from within the buildings. If anyone has any information, please contact 105 or Crimestoppers. Tuesday, 26 December – a shoplifter was apprehended after stealing a number of valuable items from one of our commercial properties. WHITIANGA POLICE REPORT: increase in burglaries Monday, 16 to Sunday, 22 October General: Mon 16 October – burglary was reported as having occurred overnight at an Albert Street address; gas fittings were stolen. Another burglary was reported as occurring on Buffalo Beach Road where diesel was siphoned from heavy machinery in a worksite. The parent who was nearby at the time, became concerned for her child’s wellbeing because of their actions.
