For Nicole and Connie, the new owners of Mat’s Café, they are continuing in Mat Ali’s tradition of friendly and hospitable service and good food.

“I am enjoying the difference between this and Snapper Jacks. I am learning a lot from the staff,” says Nicole who is a very experienced hospitality owner having been at Snapper Jacks for several years.
This is an opportunity that Nicle and Connie are glad to take up. They are a very complementary team, Connie brings a lot of business knowledge and experience but is relatively new to Whitianga.
“This job is about the community, knowing the people and welcoming visitors. Sometimes you get so busy, you might forget that but in the end good food and a happy spirit go together,” says Nicole.
At this time Connie is managing the kitchen at Mat’s Café with their team and Nicole is front of house.
Most late afternoons and evenings, people will also see Nicole and Connie at Snapper Jacks with Nicole’s husband and their staff.
