“This year we tried something a bit different where we entered some very new and unique flavours.”

Perry had been on the hunt for the best black pepper in the world to pair with their multi-award winning natural sea salt. The search led him to Kampot in Cambodia, a region designated by the European Union as a Geographic  Area of Significance for its production of black pepper.

The pepper is floral and spicy with incredible after-notes of flavour and aroma. It’s the perfect black pepper to combine with our sea salt.

“We are driven by authentic food experiences,” says Erin.

“Previously Perry had experienced in Asia a simple but unique way to add salt and spice to dishes where in small local restaurants pepper and sea salt were fine ground and served together in one dish. This ultimately led to our gold winning combination of fine ground Opito Bay sea salt with Kampot Black Pepper. It really is a winner,” smiles Erin.

Gold: Opito Bay Fine ground Kampot Black Pepper Sea salt

Silver: Opito Bay Cacao Nibs (Chocolate) Sea Salt

Bronze: NZ Black Truffle Sea Salt
