Health club dream realised

A long-held dream was realised recently when Carley Allen and Josh McKee cut the ribbon to open their new Infinite Health Club facilities in Campbell Street, Whitianga.

Fitness and wellness enthusiasts gathered outside the doors before the opening, keen to get a look at the new premises with all the brand-new fitness machines.

One very excited person was Azzie McLean, who has been in a wheelchair most of his life.

“I can’t wait to have a look inside,” Azzie said. “Carley and Josh introduced me to a personal trainer, Laila, and that has made a great difference to my quality of life.”

Carly and Josh both have certificates in fitness training, but they aim to make the new Health Club far more than that. “At our old space in the Rugby Club, we hosted a few group workshops, inviting local life coaches and wellness providers to advise on such topics as nutrition, balance and mindset. We have far more scope with our new premises and we plan to offer more of those workshops, because fitness is about a lot more than just the physical body,” Carley said.

As well as the main gym area with all the new fitness machines, the Infinite Health Club incorporates a group fitness room, spin studio with the exercise bikes, and a recovery room equipped with saunas and an ice bath. In the future, they plan to be open 24/7.

A team of existing members volunteered to help on the day, answering questions from the many interested people who attended.

“The Open Day was fantastic,” Carley said.

“Many of our existing members came with us, and today we signed up a lot of new members. The memberships are selling fast.”
