A fine selection

Whitianga Fine Wines and Spirits sits comfortably between Stoked Deli and Slice, Slice Baby Pizza towards the Buffalo Beach direction of Albert Street, Whitianga. Reema and Gary who are the owners of this business love Whitianga and enjoy their boutique business. She says, “ We offer so my different kinds of beverages. People think we are not a beer store but we have a big chiller full of all kinds of beer and we are expanding our range of craft beer.”

Fine Wines and Spirits stocks over 170 Gins on the shelf; some of them are local gins from Whitianga (Old Mate) and Thames (Awildian). Reema and Gary have a strong connection with small local producers, such as Mercury Bay Winery, Hot Water Brewery and Coromandel Brewing Company and not to forget Macadamia Chocolates from Hahei.

Gary and Reema did not know many people when they first came, which was two years ago, and they were not very familiar with all the requirements regarding consents. It took them longer than expected, but both agree the community has been very helpful and friendly. “We worked hard to have a good quality and variety of beverage as well as fine quality snacks to take with the beverages. We feel we have developed that and we will do better still, says Reema.

“We have big baskets for special events and parties – Mix and Match starting at $40. Come in and see,” smiles Reema.
